Orinoco Delta and Angel Falls Tour, Margarita Island - Walter's Tours
You will witness the change of mangrove trees to a diversity of treesand palms. This area is rich in tropical FAUNA as well: parrots, tucans,macaw, hawks, boas (python), jaguar, panther, pirannas.... A bilingualtour-guide will go along and he will explain you the secrets of this naturalworld.
2 Days / 1 Night Tour
First day:
- 7:30 AM - departure from Margarita's Airport
- Arrival in Tucupita, boat ride (2 hr.) through the Manamo River.
- Arrival at the Delta Lodge.
- Cabins, double room each with private bath-room.
- Build in the Warao Indian style but comfortable.
- Wood floors & walls, while the roof is made out of leaves from palm trees "Tamiche".
- Once we have our cabin, we will give it a shot by fishing "piranhas".
- Lunch: beef - fish - chicken.
- Boat ride excursion to the mangroves and visit a Warao village
- Back to the camp for sunset.
- 7:00 PM - dinner with non-alcoholic drinks. (if you like alcoholic drinks - you must bring it along)
- Optional night tour (sometimes): See monkeys, birds, snakes, etc. Additional $15 US pp at the camp.
Second day
- 7:00 AM - Breakfast
- 7:30 AM - Depart by boat to Tucupita
- 9:00 AM - Depart by plane to Angel's Falls
- 10:15 AM - Overfly Angel's Falls and then landing at Canaima Camp
- 10:30 AM - After refreshments depart by boat on the Canaima Lagoon to see several waterfalls
- 12:30 AM - After walking underneath the falls back to the camp.
- 1:00 PM - Lunch
- 2:00 PM - Visit Indian Craft Shop
- 3:00 PM - Depart to Margarita Island
- 5:15 PM - Arrival in Margarita and transport back to your hotel
