If you have no plans to go the the jungle on the mainland then you need not be worried about vaccinations. The problem with a trip to the jungle is there is increased exposure to mosquitos that could be carrying infectous diseases such as malaria, yellow fever, and dengue fever. Mosquitos that may be present on the island do not pose the same threat as those located in the jungle.

Consider bring good mosquito repellant escpecially if you are planning to spend some time on the mainland.

One vaccination you may want to consider when visiting any third world destination and is for hepatitis. It is possible to contract hepatitus anywhere in the world and a properly administered vaccination will provide you with a lifetime of immunity.
